What Happened?

We have been proud patrons of the Big Lots establishment since its introduction to Topeka! Everyone knew us by name & we knew every employee by name. Once upon a time, we enjoyed going in the store 3+ days a week just to drop no less than fifty bucks each visit! We even knew Saturday and Wednesday were truck delivery days! Buyers beware, whereas the majority of items you find nowadays are more expensive than that of most local stores. The store is much more organized than ever before. However, there remains a substantial amount of inconsistency with having many items actually priced to sell in the event you don't find two of the same items with different price lables. In our opinion this is still the best store in town, and will always get my money before any other "big box" department store. Unfortunately the store has eliminated all of their in house full time, and only operates its staff at part time. This has obviously resulted in items not marked, and if items are priced, we have observed that MOST items (NOT ALL), are more expensive, of which is unacceptable for a "Closeout" chain. They should concentrate on getting expired food off the shelf, marking EVERYTHING with a fair market value price, and bring back the personal touch as they have had in the past!
